Musiclily Railhammer: single coil sized humbucker : black/chrome
2 of 2 found this helpful product arrived on time and properly packaged. Upon opening the package, there was copious amounts of wax on the front face as well as the back of the pickup. So, I cleaned it up. At least I can be sure it was wax potted...LOL... I wired it the way some previous reviewers suggested, and I got a single coil sound, 5.7 on ohm meter. I rewired it this way:
Red to switch,
Black to ground (shield as well, of course)
White and green together.
this brought about the humbucking mode.. 11.79 on the ohm meter.
I did have to sand the opening a bit to accommodate the pickup, but not much really.
Totally quiet, and roars like a lion when pushed. Cleans are quiet
and bass heavy, but easily adjusted.
I put this in a Harmony HT80 strat copy (1980's) talk about a beast....never sounded so good.
