Great historical treasure
This DVD set is a great retrospective on the often forgotten history of Disney's first true mascot character. The first disc contains most of Disney's Oswald cartoons made in 1927-1928. The second disc contains a fantastic documentary on Ub Iwerks who was instrumental in the success of Oswald and later Mickey Mouse. A fantastic set of cartoons and historical documents that shows what the Disney studio was like before Mickey

Great book of concept art of early Nick toons but there's more out of context concept art than actual info about the history of the shows.
The concept art is very well done and it is great to see them displayed on nice large pages that show the detail in the drawings. However there is very little context surrounding the concept art. The only written text are interviews with the creators of the show that are unrelated to the drawings on the page. I was expecting more actual history of the nickelodeon cartoons instead of mostly concept art. This is a fantastic book for how much artwork is featured inside and the fact that every single Nicktoon up til 2005 gets a page or two but just know that this is more of an artwork book than an actual history of Nickelodeon's cartoon lineup. Along with the fact that the book only covers cartoons from 1990-2005.

A fantastic selection of the greatest cartoons
2 of 2 found this helpful Not all of the over 1000 Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies cartoons are included over these 6 volumes but what is included are the best of the best. A fantastic collection of cartoons from the Golden age of animation, each disc has a certain theme so one disc is composed of all Roadrunner cartoons and another disc is all Bugs Bunny. A must-have for any fans of these great shorts
