Not the best Eno
This isn't a patch on his first 'music for films album.... Best tracks are already available on other albums

A thousand praises.
This is a perfect album. Cara’s voice is exquisite throughout and the choice of songs is wonderful. The musicians who form her band are all virtuoso standard and provide colour and depth to the beautiful folky arrangements. The final track ‘I roved out’ has me welling up every time. Anyone who likes folk music would love this album.

My name is Ry please!
It’s just frustrating that this album isn’t brilliant. Musically it is but somehow some of the songs and singing don’t quite gel for me. Ry Cooder is one of my absolute heroes but on this album he has chosen to play characters rather than be himself....sometimes it works and sometimes it just feels a bit odd. Having said that there are some great moments....especially on the jazzy ‘Green dog’ which is really off the wall...and features a lovely female vocal...the only track that pushes the heart button for me is ‘Farm girl’..which is delicious classic Ry... but it comes right at the end of the album...so I’m afraid I have to give it 3 stars...maybe 3 and a half.
