Disappointing Gizzmo
Read the reviews and was hopeful this simple gadget might actually help cut down static on modern cut vinyl LP's such as those from Ed Sheeran which, for whatever reason, attract very strong static charge with each play.
The idea with this arm is to track the record surface with a brush of lightweight carbon bristles connected via the metal arm/bearing to a ground lead in turn connected to the amplifier's ground point while the record is playing.
Sadly I found locating the 'ideal' position to mount the arm troublesome and no amount of adjustment of the sliding weight and/or base position has been able to get the arm to consistently track properly and when it does track it did nothing to prevent the static build up on these new LP's.
Construction is OK except for the very loose sliding arm weight that really needs to be a firmer fit on the arm tube to stop it just sliding all over the place. There is also no arm rest included so you need to make your own. Disappointing.

Just Works!
Had a lot of problems getting anything that would record from my LG 'Smart' TV. USB flash drives - no. Toshiba USB Hard Drive - No, LG support very poor. Finally got this WD as a last resort before sending TV back for refund and pleased to say it works perfectly direct from USB port with no additional power needed. Now can record and time shift from this LG TV with ease. The device also comes with handy cradle which fits easily to rear of TV so it is out of sight, nice.

Perfect For Picky LG TV Recording
1 of 1 found this helpful Had load of problems/issues with 2017 LG 4K Smart TV recording to supposedly compatible USB Flash Drive. Long story short - LG lied, their sets don't record properly to USB Flash Drives! So asked LG for advice - nothing useful given. Asked on WebOS forum and kind member advised simple USB 2.0 hard drive (yes I know it is very old format). So found this one and took the chance as reviews were good and supplier seemed genuine.
HDD arrived next day! Brilliant. Checked it out on Windows 10 PC, no faults. Changed Volume Name and shoved it in the back of the LG. Works first time, no problems did not even need to be formatted by the TV. Ran number of test recordings, live playback, time machine etc. all working faultlessly.
Very pleased with this for my purposes so far another bonus is it is totaly silent as far as my old ears can detect with only sight issue being the connected blue drive light is quite bright but not really an issue.
Would definitely recommend for LG TV recording or even PC backup.
