Definitely worth what I paid...
1 of 2 found this helpful This amp works fantastic with my two 12" infinity subwoofers (1250 watts, max RMS 600 watts). I have the amp turned down about as low as it goes and it still is louder than any other amp I've owned.
My only complaint about this amp is the connection terminals. The way Rockford Fosgate manufactured these amps, you're meant to insert bare wire into the amp terminals, and tighten them down (the terminals clamp down on the inside)- you're not meant to put terminal ends on any wires you're inserting into the amp.
This would not be an issue except it causes a lot of stress when trying to fit large gauge wires in. The manual says it is meant to take 4 AWG wire- but if you want to go for more power, 2 AWG might be necessary. However, with the clearance issues, I think even fitting a 4 AWG cable into the power or ground terminal would be a difficult task. In my case, I shaved off some fibers from a 2 AWG wire to make it fit (obviously losing a lot of power however)- which like I said is still working very well for me (better than I expected even), but the fact of the matter is I expect better design from such a top quality company.
One side note: not mentioned in the manual for these amps, but an unlisted cause of the thermal light appearing on the amp is an loose ground or power wire connection into the amp. Even when there may not be a short present, the lack of connection triggers the thermal light for some reason.
I only paid $105 for my Rockford Fosgate P8002, which at this point I think was worth every penny... I've got better functionality than I originally expected (despite my complaining) and am not out too much money for it.
