Upgrade from the 3g version, lower battery life the price.
4 of 4 found this helpful Having owned the 3g version, and being very happy with that model, we bought this, the newer 4g/wifi model. Verizon abandoning the CDMA network next year being our only motivation, we were really happy with its predecessor. This has a much better camera. The price for the 4g/wifi features is battery life. It has to be charged daily, regardless of use, or it will drop to less than 15% charge, and, it panics at 11% charge. We never had hinge or screen issues with older model, and expect none with this one. Some of the buttons have been re-located between the two models, but, that is easily adapted to. The charging port is recessed deeper than the earlier model, so, pay close attention that you orient the connector correctly; would have been nice if they copied the Apple port.
