Homelite SXL early model
Really like this old saw. Has been repainted but looks better than the original sky blue color. This old saw is about 50 yrs. old but still runs great and cuts good. Homelite probably put themselves out of business because they made such a good saw. They never wore out so nobody bought new ones. Yes, they are heavy and loud and don't have the safety features, nor the EPA mandated pollution control stuff that late model saws have but that's what makes them so reliable. The new Homelites (made in China probably) give Homelite a bad name. This saw doesn"t have the manual oiler but that can be fixed easily enuff with parts from a parts saw or a kit from Ebay. I would not recommend it for heavy duty cutting but it wasn"t necessarily designed for that to begin with but its great for firewood or occasional work and its a fun saw.
