SAMSUNG SMOOTH SCH-350 - BLUE(Verizon) Cellular Phone
2 of 2 found this helpful These phones are 13 years old and do not have chips in them. You can password protect them and they do take pictures and videos. Battery life is excellent and they are simple to operate. Highly recommended for people who just want a phone without all the bells and whistles. They are indestructible. I washed mine twice and it came back to life twice. The second time the displays went dead but the phone still made and received calls. They are much smaller than a modern phone and more comfortable in your pocket. Currently very inexpensive and still available in 'like new' condition for under $20 with the charger. Enjoy!

Review of the Garmin GDL-69 satellite data link - Sirius XM for serious IMC
The Garmin GDL-69 and GDL-69A are great values in the used market selling for roughly $500 and $800 respectively with the tray and backplate. The only difference between the two is that the ‘A’ brings in Sirius XM radio while the straight 69 does not. These units are compatible with a host of Garmin products and can be linked to a Garmin Flight Stream 110 or 210 to make weather data available on an iPad or similar device when ForeFlight or the Garmin flight planning software is installed. The monthly basic subscription cost is about $40 from Sirius XM and the devices are very free of problems. Software updates can usually be done on the aircraft. If you have several aircraft with these devices installed, Mount the device in the cabin on the hat rack or in the baggage compartment so it is easy to switch to another aircraft and you don’t have to buy multiple subscriptions needlessly. The GDL-69 works beautifully with the 400, 500, 600 and 700 Garmin aviation panel mounted units and provides much higher precipitation accuracy more frequently than ADS-B in weather does. The $40/month subscription is well worth it. I have both a GDL-88 and a GDL-69 in 4 aircraft and the XM precipitation date is much higher quality with better pixelation than the ADS-B data. The Sirius XM refresh rate makes the currency of weather data about 5 minutes better than the ADS-B data. Great investment, highly recommend!
