4 of 4 found this helpful plug and play. reads wd drives that others do not. price was very good. I had old ide drives from 7 years ago and was able to get tons of old pics and files i had lost. looks like a mini toaster. Paid for itself just on recovery and using as second back up bank. The extra slots for usb an sd simply wonderful. they put a lot into this product in thoughtfulness I wish they did the same with smart phones. This is one very smart product

Packed with monster features to fight obsolescence
2 of 2 found this helpful Well built and crafted with plenty of usb ports (2 2.0 and 2 3.0) expresscard slot , HDMi etc Its a true desktop replacement. Does not get hot with its dual fan and 2 heat sinks. Most important super easy acess to ram ( ihave 32gb) and HD and Optical bays. A real plus not mentioned you can add an MSATA ssd card in the Wan card slat..those usually come in 256gb or replace optical dvd and have 3 ssd drives..thats a lot of flexibility. This model I purchased has the HD 4k display..really pleasant to look at for my video work and number crunching..The Nvidia k2100 is great.
The sad part is the dvd writer has conflicts with win10 pro..even though it recognizes the device (GS40N) and does not post a conflict with win 8 drivers. very strange.That said if you burn cds and dvds you may be out of luck unless you find a compatible drive..and the Manufacturer provides the drives..so be aware. Microsoft has the dvd player software..for playing not burning. that can be purchased.
I'm 95 percent happy..as it was great value for the money, and condition (mint) and will give you many years of use as my m4700 has..still kicking.
Do consider buying a cmos battery down the line..its dirt cheap and you wont regreat it. 2 screws to remove back panel...and its right there..30 second swap. Good luck and hope this helps you
Update The DvD writer GS30 N from my M4700 worked on the M4800!..That means problem was the DVD..and no swapping drivers..or downgrading ..works fine in win 10
I am adding another star. I am 100 percent satisfied.

62XL really lasts a long time
HP ink is great..The 62XL is no exception..generally pricier and are hard to catch bargains. When you run out of the Black ink the Printer In my case a 5540 it will save the day, and print your blacks just fine until you find a Black regular or XL. The only acceptable ink I found was ONN. Every other substitute failed. So I stick with with the brand. or Onn when possible
