Starts up quickly but introduces wow and flutter
Used on a Rega Planar 3 turntable this belt is not so great. It introduces very noticeable pitch instability.
The original Rega belt is made of rubber. This one is made of silicon I think and as a result is a much tighter fit.
After using this for nearly a month now the pitch instability is really annoying me. I can hear it on most records I play. Going back to the original Rega belt confirms that it is problem with the new belt. Maybe because there is no give in the belt and speed variations in the motor are being directly passed onto the platter. I don't know but I wouldn't recommend it to Rega owners because of this.
I am going to upgrade to the Rega PSU and if this sorts out the problem I will repost on here. Its a shame as my turntable probably does sound a little better with the new belt but the pitch instability is a definite problem
