Great bang for the buck
4 of 4 found this helpful It is well known that a 50mm prime lens is a near essential piece of gear even for amateur photographers like me. This is a well built, solid lens that is a step up from the $100 "nifty fifty" Canon f/1.8. I've used it primarily for indoor sports photography so far with good results, though I stayed away from the f/1.4 limit so as not to overly narrow my depth of field. I have some upcoming portrait work, so I may push the aperture limit for that. But my prelim test shots at 1.4 look great so far. Would certainly recommend this lens.
