Great sound quality, great value for money
Bought one for a friend, was so impressed that I bought these two (one for me, one for another friend!). Instructions are badly translated, but so easy to use that doesn't matter. Can't figure out how to 'create a playlist' but other functions work well/simply. Great sound quality; good quality headphones. Excellent!!

A treat for true fans, written by a true fan
I was a bit skeptical about this book due to that subtitle 'Conversations with...' but there was no need to be. Although the writer's style took a bit of getting used to at first, I was soon so enthralled by what he was saying that how he said it (and, to be fair, he does write very well). This is the amazing story of how Whitney Stine finally got to meet 'Ms Davis' when he was writing a book about the star whom he'd admired so much for so many years, and whose collection of memorabilia and notes about her meant that his recollection of events in her life and career were sometimes more accurate than hers! Not only did she happily collaborate with him, the two became very close friends and he clearly became a very important part of her life.
So many complex conversations are recollected in such fine detail that I wondered if Stine - with Bette Davis's permission - recorded some of them. Their accuracy has to be taken on trust, I think, given his clear devotion to both the person and the persona.
I think that any fan of the incomparable Ms Davis would love this book as much as I do, and relish all the sometimes very touching details about her life away from the spotlight. But while this is a very respectful book, full of genuine admiration and affection, it's not a whitewash either. Whitney Stine really knew his subject and portrays her honestly, accepting her human failings as much as he acclaimed her talent.
By the end of this book I felt I'd gained a truthful insight into the 'real' Bette Davis and like her all the more for it! It was so poignant, yet somehow fitting, to learn that Whitney Stine passed away five days after she did. I think their 'conversations' are still going on...
