Awesome system, just don’t let it overheat, modifications can also improve experience
1 of 1 found this helpful This console has so many features, it’s an excellent all in one system. I’ve played ps1 ps2 and ps3 games and they all run well. It can video stream and it’s got a massive amount of ports on it. The only problems with the device are the ones most people probably know about, the overheating, fan noise, charging controllers, and small storage. It’s very important you place this in a well vented and cool area since it is prone to overheating and destroying itself. This can also help with decreasing noise as it can reduce fan speed. I’d also recommend upgrading the 60gb hard drive to a cheaper ssd. You won’t benefit much from buying a top of the line ssd but cheaper ones can definitely improve load times. Plus more storage is always a benefit. Thankfully switching out drives is made very easy, just make sure you properly format your new drive. Lastly, the DualShock 3 only charges when plugged into the ps3 itself and not a regular wall charger. There are special charging docks you can get elsewhere but it’d be nice if you could just plug them into the wall with a regular charger. All in all, as long as you’re willing to accommodate some of its quirks and find one that hasn’t been heavily used, it’s an excellent system for all your older PlayStation games. As a side note, if you have a psp go and a psp go cradle, you can connect a DualShock 3 to it and basically turn your psp go into a dockable handheld like the Nintendo switch.
