False claims
1 of 1 found this helpful Really nice looking sub but its almost a waste of material.I think by now that most people are upset with Rockville's false claims now that the K-9 series has been debunked.I downgraded to a Skar RP-800 and use my rp-1200 for my American Bass 15 inch sub that was 10$ more at the time.Skar's smallest amp in the RP-series blew this sub after break in period running it at 350-400 watts for a day. Smoked my truck out running it at 800 clean watts. The 1250 rms claim is bogus, if you buy your safe at half the rms claim at 625 watts. While Rockville has been trying to defend this sub all over youtube with things that absolutely either make no sense or proving there sub wont blow at 500-600 watts dynamic with there extremely overrated amplifiers, there are many video's of people blowing theese subs easily running under 1000rms. Engineers from other companies are making this sub the laughing stock of the car audio industry, and this is there second version after the V1 was getting wrecked at even lower true rms wattage. American Bass makes a wonderful 15 inch sub that can do 1250 rms easily for another 10$ more.I dont know what Rockville's 300$ destroyer can do but after this K9 thing blew in like 3 min on 2/3 the rms claims id take anything they say or claim with a grain of salt. Im assuming there car audio side of there company wont survive much longer unless they make good with there consumers, fire there engineers & get new ones plus stop making bogus claims to defend this subwoofer. Mistakes happen just correct them if ya wanna start moving numbers again , or liquidate, theres really no other option.
