Strong book!
I know of the story first-hand, as my mother was a classmate and good friend of Hardy Brown. He seemed larger than life, as did all the Mighty Mites, but the story was real. As other underdogs, such as Seabiscuit, held the country's attention during the 30's and 40's, so did the boys who fought each other and then fought together to create a legend. The book holds your attention, with gritty football and tender love stories. Some of the details are a bit off, but the compelling story is there, and it will be hard to put down.
