Review
It works. Mechanical pencils are a waste of time and money. Use the old fashioned ones and sharpen them with this thing.

A drawback
It is a VERY large paperback and is therefore unwieldy, although the paper is very thin. My worry is that the spine might give way unless I support the book on a desk or table.

A detailed popular overview
First published in 1958 and based on secondary sources, this work is a brilliant overview of a phenomenon which in these days tends to be totally downplayed. It concentrates on societies in which cannibalism was socially acceptable in one form or another. Many passages make very grim reading. Unlike some other works on the subject, tends to avoid discussions of famine and psychotic cannibal incidents. In any case, not for the fainthearted.
