Works well as a PTT switch
Using this with a radio transceiver as a PTT switch. Working well so far. I needed to flick the rear switch to make the footswitch put the rig into transmit rather than receive. Build quality of plastic body ok, maybe not quite as good as hoped but not a surprise at the price. Comes with two spare rubber foot pads one red , one black. A black one was fitted when shipped so I fitted the red as it's easier to see on the floor. Slightly longer cable than competing footswitches, which is a bonus. No discernable audible or mechanical click from the switch when it operates which would have been preferable in this application.

Works fine with Yaesu PMR handheld.
Seems good quality. Works well connecting a Yaesu ex-PMR radio to an external antenna.

Nice little GPS module
Nice little GPS module, which is being used in a 'Shackbox'. This was a design published in Practical Wireless for a multi-function unit displaying day/date/UTC time/lat/long/IARU & WAB locators as well as temperature and air pressure from a separate sensor. These Neo-6M GPS modules seem to pick up a better signal than those with a tiny rectangular antenna on a flying lead. Also the sma socket (which you have to solder in position if needed) means you can use an external active antenna if desired. The Neo-6M picks up signals from GPS satellites. Newer models can theoretically pick up signals from Russian GLONASS and/or European Galileo satellites but the benefits seem unclear. (I also have a very similar Neo-7M module, which can theoretically receive GLONASS signals but appears not to have an antenna capable of doing so.) A group of us bought a total of 25 of these modules from a range of different suppliers. We had 4 that didn't function but all 6 bought from UKings were OK.
