A great history
John Walter's book on the history of Lugers is a great value and resource for someone wanting to learn more about the development and use of the pistol. This book is much cheaper than other books on the subject. As a strict identification book, it is pretty run of the mill, however it is excellent when paired with Lugers at Random.

Great for general information
Great for general identification and price information, if you want specifics on certain items, this is not the book for you. The book is divided into the various Nazi political and military organizations and gives a brief history of each. While good for researching items used by a particular organization, it makes it difficult to find an item if you are unsure who used it.
