Philips Hue 471960 White & Color Ambiance 4 Bulb/Bridge Starter Kit

These bulb are almost 5 star appliances.

Here's what they are lacking: 1) the ability to choose and change an automatic on color. For those new to the bulbs, when turning the bulb off and on at a standard, not-smart switch, the bulb always resets its color to its default out of the box color. Easily changed from the app, but an annoyance. It also means a power outage results in the bulbs all powering on at their defualt color and brightness when powerr resumes. Being able to change this, or zero this would be nice. There are rumor that philips is considering making this a firmware update. Let's hope. 2) the app is still a little clunky. Philips has a built in "lab" where one can program ypur lights to perform dunamic and even basic if-then responses. However, it has divided this portion of the app in a way that feel clunky. -- That being said, the quality of the light is excellent. They instantly turn on, (many led bulbs have a lag), and their flexibility & fluidity is genuinely mesmerising. For the money, I want something with a cleaner virtual interface. For example, a sunrise clock that turns on in the middle of the night because the power cut off and on for a second is poor design. But the hardware, the actual product, is excellent. 25000 houra of excellent.

I love these things.

I love these things. If you know how to ripstick, the experience of a new after spending hours on older ones is fantastic. It's tight, but fluid and free moving. Highly recomend.
