Great Walk-Around Lens
The XC15-45 can take some sharp photos. Image quality seems about on a par with the XF18-55 as far as I can see. I've paired it with my older X-E2 body for an inexpensive travel camera.
I did notice some ghosting when shooting into strong light, so a lens hood (not included) is advisable. The powered zoom takes some getting used to, but works fine. The OIS makes up for this being a relatively slow lens. Focus seems reasonably fast in decent light. You can focus quite close at the widest setting - which seems counter-intuitive, I know.
My only gripe with this lens is that it has to retract whenever you use playback to view an image, causing a brief delay before the image shows up on screen. Not a major drawback, but it's worth noting if you often view photos right after shooting. It also zooms out to the widest setting each time you do so. None of these minor annoyance have anything to do with image quality, of course.
If you're looking for an inexpensive zoom, this has you covered for most everyday situations.

Cheap But Capable Hardware
I bought this adapter to let me digitize my large collection of home 8mm video tapes. This adapter wouldn't meet the needs of professionals, I'm sure, but for home use it works just fine. I bought an S-Video cable to try to squeeze the best quality image out of these old recordings. Realistically, you're only going to get so much quality about of aging magnetic tape!
This works far better than the AverMedia capture board I used years ago. Audio and video have mostly been in sync, except for one tape I plan to redo. So far I've digitized about half a dozen tapes.
I didn't bother even trying to install the included software. My Windows 10 PC picked up on the device via plug-and-play, without prompting me for additional drivers. I'm using Total Recorder Video Pro to capture video and audio.

Did the trick
I'd purchased a camcorder that didn't come with an AC adapter. This has worked well.
