Colorful trip back to the golden days of Cross Creek
I live close to Cross Creek, just 20 miles away. We often go to the restaurant that adjoins her home place. A few weeks ago we saw this book on the counter there and thumbed through it. Many of our parents knew Miss Rawlings, all of them had stories to tell. This book is quite accurate; it portrays Cross Creek and Miss Rawlings in a way that brings our mind's eye to those early days when Cross Creek was a world unto itself.
I would recommend the book to anyone looking for insight into those golden days when life at Cross Creek, while hard, was simple.

A must have!!
Protect your food - sealed from air and light these Mylar bags and O2 absorbers are great. Use an iron or a food sealer to close the bags. Reusable, too.

A real workhorse
1 of 1 found this helpful Electric start, hybrid fuel, easy to manage and I'm a woman in my seventies! No need to pull and pull to get the motor to catch. I am a happy customer, had everything ready to go before the last two hurricanes. The cord from my electric panel was simple to attach, we were up and running in less than ten minutes. Having it on wheels was wonderful! We had lights, water pumping from our well, the fridge was cold and we were connected to the world through the internet. I chose to use propane because I had not filled my cans with ethanol free gas. I expected it to be loud but it was not. Thankfully I was able to run the generator safely in my garage. I have a large house in the country and this unit powered our basic needs. Keeping the food frozen in the freezer, the fridge ran cold, saved me more money than this generator cost. So I,say it paid for itself. Cost of fuel to run it was minimal. I highly recommend that you have a professional wire the cords from the main panel to the plug on the generator. That made the generator run smoothly, no overload shut off to worry about. If you have a hurried propane tank for your B-b-Q or your tankless hot water get a connection for the DuroMax also.
