Great remote for the price, nice looking, great LCD!
2 of 2 found this helpful PROS: Great looking, cost effective, pretty good product database, nice color LCD, easy to add steps from and existing remote.
CONS: No RF function for controlling lighting, must have original remote to program specific/specialized functions-no online database.
OVERALL: I really like this remote, everyone of my friends and family is impressed with it. I think it is very comparable to the harmony 880 for a lot less! I'm buying another one for my father this week, that's how much I like it!
It's been a week since I first set up my sru8015, and so far so good. It does take a few minutes to get used to how the remote programs, but once you do it's a snap. I did have some trouble getting the remote to work on my Yamaha rx-v663 receiver. My receiver has a separate on and off button instead of a singular on/off/power button. After a few mins I got it to work. I pretty much deleted everything for the Yamaha and put in my own dedicated functions for inputs, and DSP fields etc. It took me about 10 min. total to get the basic set up for my TV Cable/dvr, and my receiver. No to shabby! Then I went back in and tweaked the Yamahas profile and the dvr. I love the macros(philips calls it "activites") function. Very easy to program ALL ON/OFF, even takes delays into consideration. I even have the remote controlling my electric oil radiator heater-that's pretty sweet if you ask me.
******This remote doesn't support RF!!!!!!!****************** It will control lighting, but only in IR...NO RF!
This is really the only downfall to this product that I see...and it's more my fault for not researching before I bought it.
It will control ANYTHING that works off of IR, as long as you have a remote to learn the function off of. It had no problems learning my fathers Tecnics receiver that's like 15yrs old! It had it in the database-go figure.

Bonsai: Special Techniques: Brooklyn Botanical Garden
1 of 1 found this helpful This book is old, but is still a very useful guide in the art of bonsai. I'm still a novice level gardener, but with book like this I'm getting better. This book does have color photos and diagrams that illustrate how to perform certain techniques. It covers rock planting, propagation through air layering, forest planting and placement, the list goes on and on. Many of the illustrations are black and white drawings, but they do provide a visual insight of what is being talked about. This book was a great buy at a few bucks due to it's age, and is well worth it as a reference for special plantings.
