Doesn't transfer data

I was having issues with my old cable overheating when charging so I replaced it with this. Overheating is no longer an issue but this cable doesn't transfer data properly. My computers recognise the device when connected but cannot register any of the data saved on said device, like pictures or music. Other cables work fine so the issue is with this cable. It's not a problem for me having to use a different cable to transfer/view data as I have plenty of data cables but if this would be an issue for you, I'd recommend another cable
