Run away!
I'm a very experienced model builder and have had nothing but trouble with RPM kits in the past and this kit is notable in that it somehow managed to be the worst of them all. After 3 hours of cutting, sanding, puttying, sandng and puttying and sanding some more I finally tossed this kit which I have never done and trust me, I've managed to make some really rotten kits actually work.
The quality of this kit should put it in the $4 price range, not $14 plus shipping.
Specifically
1. Sprues and gates are so poorly formed and designed as to guarantee the more delicate parts are obliterated. There are huge plugs of styrene right in between the spokes on the wheels.
2. Styrene quality is poor and cheap, does not glue together well nor does it like to be sanded
3. Detail level is poor, blurry and heavy
4. Fit - very very poor, no alignment pins naturally.
5. Decals - it has them but I did not get to that point, I might try them on a separate kit.
Dear Takom, please make some shells for your pretty darn good 42cm siege howitzer kit!
Anyone who can make this stinker work would probably be able to make the entire thing from scratch; nothing in this kit would be usable except maybe the box art.

Flimsy, poor detail, over-priced at $15
This is not a resin or plaster casting but merely a foam rubber like material with very bland looking "details", essentially a step up from the old cardstock printed scenery details of the 1960s.
The printing and color is only on one surface, the edges including the undersides of the portals are blank. It appears to be made of three layers of this cheap foamy substance and the layers will come apart very easily.

Compared to Lionel it's not quite as good but the trailers are 1st rate.
With Piggyback models in O scale you used to get a colorful but very toy like pair of trailers set on a toylike set of mounts on a flatbed trailer.
These are the new trailers which have detailed wheels and realistic tire rims and doors that open and close. The doors have a very superb set of hinges and latches and the paint scheme is excellent. The tires are vinyl, the axles are metal as are the hinge pins for the doors. The jack stand wheels turn and there is a crank handle for them (non-operating).
The flatcar leaves much to be desired in regards to Piggyback. Although the tongue mount and wheel chocks are somewhat realistic, there are no sideboards or ramps on either end as you would find on the Lionel models of the same genre. Nothing a little scratchbuilding won't cure.
Comparing to the Lionel trains further, the trucks have the couplers attached to them but have the addition of the air brake couplers. The brake wheel is not correct; it would require the loader to drive over it. The paint on the flatcar is good as are the markings.
I gave it 4 stars because it's not actually a Piggyback setup but rather a reasonable proximation; the quality of the trailers really is superb though.
