The James Code by O. S. Hawkins
    May 12, 2018
Who Reads the Introduction?! I Do - Here's Why
In the author's introduction to The James Code, he writes, “Somewhere, privately and personally, before the risen Lord revealed Himself to any others, He met with James - and His little brother’s life was never the same (pg 2.)” While this statement makes for a charming “Foldgers/Hallmark” moment, there is NOTHING in Scripture that supports the claim that Jesus had a private one-on-one with James BEFORE revealing Himself to anyone else. There are several accounts of Christ's appearing, during the 40 days before His ascension, to a number of people, in a variety of places. However, in the ONLY Scripture that SPECIFICALLY mentions his "little brother", (1 Corinthians 15:3-8), James is not mentioned until fourth in a series which omits Christ's appearances on Resurrection Sunday to Mary Magdalene and then to "Mary and the other women". Unfortunately, this causes me to doubt the veracity of every other statement made by the author. Because of this, I cannot recommend this book to younger Believers as I am concerned that they would simply (based on the reputations of the author and the publishing company, and the recommendation of other Christians) take every word as “gospel truth.” Were it not for this credibility issue, I would highly recommend the The James Code. The format is excellent; the content is from the Bible, so, of course, it is compelling. The amount of material covered is not overwhelming; nor is it simply some trite little required "verse for the day." DO I recommend it? Maybe - but only for Christians who are in the habit of verifying, with Scripture, what they are told.

    Great Color
Great color and reasonable wear. as with all mk products, over-priced, so only a "good value" if you buy it indirectly.
