Great camera but...
3 of 3 found this helpful I drive everywhere and it’s day and night view are amazing. However, it is not made to be on the dashboard. Mines ended up warped because the plastic couldn’t take the heat from the sun while driving in Alabama during the summer. Now it won’t even charge in order to stay on. I have a cheaper dash cam that became my primary camera because it’s hard plastic cover was made for harsh conditions... in a car.
The instruction manual isn’t very helpful. It shows you what the applications are but not specifically how to use them. I had to go on YouTube to search for how to use this camera along with all of its apps. The pre downloaded gps sucks due to it continuously freezing. I’ve tried using it countless times and while the concept it nice, it’s unreliable.
It’s a shame that the makers focus on aesthetics but not durability. This is not made for hot weather.
Now if you live in an environment where the weather is mild and not hot constantly then I’d recommend this, as the camera is very reliable during night driving with headlights on. I really do wish I could post a picture of what mines now looks like. It’s a perfectly good camera gone to waste because the makers didn’t make it durable.
It’s upsetting, and for me a waste of money.
Now that you’re aware of its flaws I’d say proceed with caution.
The camera shown is a slightly different model but by the same company. The material is the same and the only difference is literally the base on one but not the other.
