Finish Line teflon dry lube is what you want. Dirt does stick to the chain but not as bad as the wet stuff
This price for Finish Line Teflon dry lube is less expensive than what REI charges

The Winds of Mara
Having enjoyed the past and recent writings of Colin Fletcher, The Winds of Mara was one that I have not read yet. I have just started to read this book and so far Mr. Fletcher's writing style holds true to his genere of solitude, inner searchings and decriptive nature of his other works. If you enjoy the natural out of doors environment. do not miss out on this reading experience.
