Great Rainfly, Great Value!
At 2.8 meters (9 feet 2 inches) square, this rainfly gives you quite a bit of coverage, and it does so without costing you too much money while doing so.
This is a rainfly, and not a tarp, I say this due to its lack of grommets. It has eight tie-out points (each of which has a small grommet through it. These allow you to tie it between trees and there are two long ropes with tensioners included for this purpose. The sides then each have three tie-outs you can stake down with the six included ropes, again with tensioners. And there are eight included heavy-weight aluminum shepherd-hook spikes for staking this down in whatever configuration you wish to use. This makes a tent over your hammock, and could easily be used as a light weight tent shelter without the use of a hammock.
It has had no problems with the rains, as it seems to be as waterproof as sil-nylon. The 15 mph winds didn't do any more damage to it than cause the plastic tensioners to slip a bit. The fabric was blown against my hammock in the rain and there was zero capillary action!

Great Item - A Must Have
This may just be one of the most useful pieces of gear you can get and carry.
Put this in your gear bag and it becomes much more of a Bug-Out-Bag.
If there are twigs, you can cook and you can stay warm. Great heat means fast cook times and not a lot of fuel used.
Burning dry twigs means very little smoke, which means you are stealthier.
This assembles easily, though you want to practice a bit first, as there are no instructions.
It is lightweight, but quite sturdy. Once you use it, you'll love it!
And it is not expensive. This is a GREAT gift for someone you love (including yourself!).
