I've recently built 2 PC's with the DG31PR MB from Intel. Couple this MB with an Intel E8400 CPU and 4GB of PC2-6400 RAM, a Solid-State Hard Drive and a decent video card and you get a screaming machine that will rival some i5-equipped computers at a fraction of the cost. I love that it has temperature sensors on the CPU, NorthBridge and SouthBridge - and the E6400 runs cool with just the stock HSF assembly. Intel has all of the needed drivers for all of the operating systems - at least through Windows 7. (Not all legacy Intel MB's have Windows 7 drivers - be careful!) Intel doesn't provide overclocking capability, but if you want a rock-solid machine on a budget - the DG31PR is a great place to start!

Yup - works like they say...
Needed to duplicate an HDMI signal to two TV's - this does the job perfectly. LED indicators tell you if you don't have the cable properly seated...

E8400 ROCKS!
I've installed E8400 CPUs in three PC's. They all perform very well and run cool. I'm not an "overclocker", but if I was, this would be a great platform. Installation is standard for Socket 775. The HeatSink/Fan assembly can be tricky on those so take your time getting it right. Otherwise the CPU will easily overheat. Properly installed using Arctic Silver 5 compound and a stock Intel HSF, I can't get the CPU temperature to even 60 degrees... Intel charged over $150 for these babies back in 2008. Now you can pick one up for under $10. A nice, cheap upgrade to your aging PC...
