Factory refurbished is the way to go
Some signs of repair here and there - it looks like the prior owner may have really destroyed it judging by some visible solder on a few out of the way components, but the fact that it works good as new just speaks to how thorough their refurbishment process is. Getting a $400+ stand mixer for half price is a hard deal to pass up and considering this operates, and (at least on my counter) looks like a brand new stand mixer, I have absolutely no complaints.
In summary: You will know this is refurbished if you give it a thorough look over, but that's a *good* thing. They're not just taking returns and slapping a sticker on them. Kitchen Aid's factory refurb process is legit and buying this equipment as refurbished is a great way to save big.
