Art of Teese
1 of 1 found this helpful Just finished reading Dita Von Teese's new book "Art of the Teese" which is a flip book with one half devoted to Fetish and the other to Burlesque. I think this is a must have for all you modern day Betty's out there who wish to emulate her style. Ms. Teese offers many vintage beauty secrets of her own and from the 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's. The book has a bit of autobiography as well as history. It is definitely more focused towards women but shares some beautiful pictorials for us men. I can truely appreciate and bask in the beauty of a woman like Dita who in return can honor my fetishes.

The Great American Pin-Up
I received this book as a gift for Christmas and my copy is the 2006 version released by Barnes and Noble. This is not only a great read, but an excellent pictorial and reference book for any aspiring artist/medium. There are over 900 illustrations from 1920 to 1980. It is definitely one of the most comprehensive studies of the genre to appear anywhere. If you appreciate the classic pinup beauty of the aformentioned era you're sure to love this book.

Louisiana Hayride
1 of 1 found this helpful This is an excellent documentary put out by Louisiana Public Broadcasting. Follow the narration of Hank Jr. and explore and important era of music that took place in Shreveport starting in 1948 and that was broadcast worldwide every saturday night at 8:PM via the local KWKH radio station. Floyd Cramer refered to the Hayride as his "School of Hard Knox." The Hayride gave the world what the Grand Ole Opry wouldn't dare. From Country legends such as Hank Williams, Webb Pierce, Slim Whitman and Frank Tillman, the Hayride was a star maker. Included in this documentary are interviews with several of the Cradle of Stars. It was at the Louisiana Hayride where Rose Maddox lead the way here for Elvis Presley and what later became a Rockabilly showcase with minimal Honky Tonk acts. Johnny Cash, George Jones, and Johnny Horton wrapped up the Hayride before television eventually led to its demise.
