Spend more get more
The dimming function did not work as the instrument cluster stayed at the same level of illumination no matter in what direction you turned the knob, furthermore when opening the doors the interior lights would not turn on as they should. Ended up spending more for the factory part (Motorcraft) but after replacing the old part everything worked perfectly. It was for a 2007 Ford Explorer and maybe it was the part itself or that it was not vehicle specific even if the description said that it was.
