RAVENOL POWER STEERING FLUID SSF 1L

Not what I expected

My car maintenance specs called for a mineral based hydraulic power steering fluid. I looked all over the internet and found them very hard to locate. Finally the advertisements for this oil led me to believe that it was mineral oil based. Even though it cost more than most of the other brands I was OK with that because I thought it would be better to follow the auto manufacturers recommendations. When I received the product I noticed that right on the front of the bottle it reads "Fullsynth". I read that as it being fully synthetic. So, where does the mineral oil base come in ? After much deliberation I decided to go ahead and use it since my system was a little low on oil. I sucked as much of the old fluid as I could out of the old oil and filled it with Ravenol SSF 1L. That was about a week ago. The steering still works and I don't see any leaks so I guess it will be OK. We'll see if I experience any component deterioration or other problems in the future from using this product but so far it is OK.
