Xplained explained.

Well a simpler methods could be used , but using the Xxplained board it has a lot of for doing experiment's, including debugWire just remember to remove the RESET jumper and leave it floating free or you will never get out of debug mode... The reset line is used by the debuging software, so when using ot you wont be able to press the reset button . make sure of no pullup resitors going to it either... And it works great with AtmelStudio 7...
