Not worth it - complicated and requires knowledge of previous settings.
1 of 1 found this helpful The Honeywell Vision PRO model TH9421C1004 is now obsolete. Mine, like reviews I read on Amazon has lost much of its touchscreen capability. It's an old three wire system labeled 1,2,3.
Unfortunately, newer models don't use this coded combination to the thermostat. I thought I could just buy an identical older unit and just slap it on using the three-wire configuration. Nope! This model requires coding about 70 features from the settings menu that were used when the unit was initially installed. All of them located in an advanced functions menu under settings. Things like program schedule, fan control, ventilation, humidifier, furnace filter, adaptive intelligence recovery, etc.
Even if I knew what the original settings were, that part of my old lcd screen has disappeared. Ther are no other solutions except to purchase an entire thermostat module unit and have it installed by a professional. .
