An oral thermometer is more accurate!
1 of 2 found this helpful I feel like I just wasted $100 buying a state-of-the-art forehead thermometer -- even though it's perfectly accurate! It arrived in the mail and my wife & I had fun testing it on each other: normal results. But last night, I was lying in bed reading with a small swing-arm lamp above me and took my temp: 103!! and again:103! Took my temp with the older oral one and it read normal. So I went into a cooler room, waited 5 minutes and used the new one: normal. Evidently, what's happening is that it (accurately) measures your FOREHEAD temp -- NOT your BODY temp.
