Intel Xeon W3690
If you're looking to max out the CPU on an older 1366 motherboard at the least expensive price, then the Intel Xeon W3690 is what you need. Can be purchased used for around $80. It is the closest CPU to the i7-990x and x5690 at about half the price. The w3690 was a replacement for my i7-960 CPU. Really not a lot of noticeable gain but wasn't expecting it since my 960 is 3.2 GHz and the 3690 is 3.47 GHz. But there is some noticeable gains with heavy applications. Works well with W10 and seems very stable. Pretty sure max ram is 32gb like the i7's and it is not compatible with dual cpu's where the x5690 is and will recognize a considerable amount of more ram. Have no idea about OC on this cpu. I never OC anything but would image the x5690 would be the better choice if wanting to over clock. I have to say I was a little skeptical of switching over to a XEON over the i7 but the XEON seems to be an awesome CPU. Also take note that these XEONS do NOT have integrated graphics built into the chips like the i7's, so you'll have to use an external video card and NOT the onboard video.

Great case at a great price!
Really good case if your looking for something sleek. Good air flow. A little flimsy but they all are now. Plenty of room inside for large boards and components. Easy to hide cables in the side panel. Can add lighted fans to the front for extra front lower panel glow. Would definitely recommend case for anyone looking to upgrade on a budget. Awesome price!

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi
Excellent sound card but all Creative Sound Blaster cards are in my opinion. Never owned one I didn't like. My first choice. I would compare this card to the Audigy 2. I use it mainly for multimedia: music and movies. Excellent sound quality when using the optical out with a soundbar and sub. Works very well with Windows 10. I would suggest staying away from older sound cards with a game port when using Windows 10. I have ran into a few driver issues and hardware recognition for the game ports. This is a great sound card if on a budget. Can be purchased used for around $30. Definitely superior to onboard sound. The control software is easy to use and make adjustments. Can be used in any PCI express slot. Should fit fine in any case but is slightly wide if mounting directly under a graphics card with fans.
