Excellent resource for any embroiders library
The book starts with all the basics of what you will need for embroidery as well as a great stitch library reference that provides backgrounds for the best use of each. It goes into detail on the best threads to use for each stitch, the best uses for each stich, variations that can be applied to each with page reference numbers included, along with labeled pictures to demonstrate how to do them. It also has helpful tips for technique regarding each stich. The book includes projects to help practice combinations of referenced stitches and was well organized. As stated in the title, it does also provide wonderful backgrounds on crewelwork, goldwork, ribbon embroidery and embellishments. It actually includes 3 separate styled alphabets to practice letter embroidery. I feel it is an excellent resource and addition to any embroider library, and am so glad I grabbed a copy for a great price!
