Effective or too effective
It functions as you'd expect but the rubber is so tacky that it's difficult to get a single card out let alone stuffing multiple in there. My previous phone had one with a fabric like sleeve which was much easier to use but you'd have to worry about stretching. This product is unlikely to stretch. It would break before it stretched. That said, I will likely go back to the fabric sleeve next case.

Potentially the best smartphone ever made.
20 of 21 found this helpful Aside from the fact that it is from 2014. It's now the start of 2018 and I'm not sure how long this phone will last but I know if I have to repair it it won't be too difficult because it's one of the last generations of open-ended phones. Removable battery, expandable storage. Now that every one is following Apple's path and upselling their storage options and bricking the batteries that you can't access without voiding warranties... These kinds of phones are more important than ever. LG was the last hold out but even with their newer phones with removable battery the Note 4 is probably the last great phone with every feature you could want in a phone. I dread the day I have to get rid of this thing because their probably won't be a plausible option with removable battery left. Aside from some budget phones or off-brand crap. So take a moment of silence, for the last phone with removable battery, expandable storage, OIS, NFC, 4k video, 1080p60 recording, stylus pen, AMOLED screen, and plenty of Android capabilities (you can use a launcher to avoid touchwiz, root it in Android, whatever you want).

A tremendous value, with some budget compromises
1 of 1 found this helpful An amazing option for people who want to enter the full frame mirrorless world but this is by no means the ideal full frame mirrorless experience. A little slow on the trigger, 4k crop without DPAF, and a number of other compromises compared to the R or R6 but you can't turn your nose up at the price.
Wouldn't consider this the hybrid shooter's camera. Definitely not the wildlife or sports shooter's camera. But if you want a modern, user friendly camera that can produce the best photos at 1k or less, this is the body for you. You'll struggle to mess up a portrait with this body and even a basic 50/1.8 lens.
Obviously, I do recommend getting a third party battery grip and extending that annoying mirrorless style battery life. Will go a long way whether you are doing paid work or a hobbyist.
