Better than a Magic Mixie
My kids (5 and 7) love it. They like how it's aMagic Mixie with more options. It's durable, cute, and gender neutral. Some of the spells are funny. I love how its more affordable, and doesn't require water.

excellent camera
2 of 2 found this helpful I am an artist, and my father was a professional photographer, so I wanted a reliable, brand-name camera which would take high-quality photos which I could potentially use for my art. I chose the Minolta because the company is deep rooted in the camera industry, and along with Canon and Nikon, the big name in cameras. Also, it was the only camera of it's price range to offer 5.0 megapixels and 12x zoom at the time. The cameras of equivalent stats ran $200 more than the Minolta at the time I bought it!
The Minolta didn't fail to keep up with my standards. Especially in good natural lighting, the photos came out exquisitely and fast. During night I had to turn on the flash to get clear results. This camera offers easy to use automatic mode for taking good photos for the beginner, and a more advanced manual mode for those who are more knowledgeable about photography.
Also, I liked how the camera took rechargeable AA batteries, and used the standard Sandisk memory card. It made this camera extremely convenient to use. Also, the quality of the photos are higher than I expected.
The only issues I had with this camera is that occassionaly the camera would get confused and not turn off or on completely (the lens still extended when the camera is off, occasionally). If you can't take clear pictures, it is because this is a higher quality, and thus slower camera, and using the 2 second timer and a tripod is an easy remedy for this issue.
