Ticket to Ride for little people
An excellent junior version of the wonderful Ticket to Ride game. The aim is the same but rules and map considerably simplified. Obviously less challenging for adults than the original versions but, with this, the children can join in fully. The adult version has a great deal of strategy and decision making needed - this version removes the difficult decisions.
If you enjoy Ticket to Ride and have children/grandchildren under about 10, then buy this version in addition to the adult version.
Any niggles? Just one. The coloured train cards are dreadful. Colours not as clear as they should be because the pictures of rolling stock tend to obscure the important background colour. And the pictures of the rolling stock - absolutely awful. The adult version cards are bad enough; these are even worse. Still, once I ignore that the game is great.

Leave all the other bird guides at home. This is the one you need.
1 of 1 found this helpful It is not just a catalogue of bird species with brief descriptions, just as earlier Collins guides etc. were. This guide has carefully placed, very helpful explanations for tricky groups of birds. In spite of the massive developments over the previous generation of guides, it still is handy enough to take into the field.
Blurb on the fly leaf of a book often exaggerates - in this case the claim that it is another landmark publication is fully deserved.

Meccano instruction manuals - a treasure trove.
Forget about buying tatty old printed Meccano manuals from the dark ages and trying to keep them in usable order. This DVD has almost everything. The quality of the scanned images is really good - how they managed to find any in such good order is little short of miraculous. The DVD is effectively organised, file names are thoughtfully helpful and idiot-proof. Do not waste your time reading any more of this review - buy the DVD yourself - you will not regret it.
And, of no importance, but a nice touch, the DVD itself is very attractively presented.
Overall 5 stars seems rather too few for something of this value.
