Dell sound bar adapted to HP Compaq monitor
This is the second time I've adapted one of these Dell sound bars to fit a HP Compaq LA2450 monitor. The security tab on the bar has to be cut back, and the locking tabs have to be made about 1.5 mm narrower (off the bottom) but then the bar snaps onto the monitor in the HP slots. Trim the plastic parts with a match heated hot exacto knife or similar, and be sure to get the sound bar with the power supply, as the HP monitors don't have the onboard power for the speakers. I like the amplified power, sounds great with decent stereo separation, not much thump in the bass, but what would you expect - get a separate subwoofer for the floor if it matters to you. Hard to beat the price, and I like that it doesn't clutter up my desk. Great for Skype.

Great player, v.good remote, limited as a streaming device
1 of 1 found this helpful Bought this as a refurb to pair with my 2020 LG OLED. They work great together, HDR, 4K and Audio are outstanding, and they talk to each other over the HDMI for the remote control and negotiating best sound and visual playback. For whatever reason, they did not give it a robust ability to stream, but that is moot as I've a ROKU and the new TV has all that built in - so I was primarily interested in this as 4k HDR Blu Ray and audio source. It would be nice if the remote were back-lit, and the buttons on the front of the device chromed, as they are nearly impossible to see in a darkened room. Happy with the refurb, came in secondary packaging, but it appears to be new - no wear or dust on it and everything seems to work fine. No batteries or HDMI cable (as expected according to listing). Showed up a day earlier than promised.
I've also a Samsung 4k (wimpy remote) and a 1 year old Sony 700 which still plays DVD but for some reason has suddenly failed to play blu rays. They are also mediocre streaming device. Prefer the Sony's remote slightly, but this LGs is also very good, and as the TV remote works it very well, the point is moot.
