Ok
It certainly is capable of the job. You can also get out of jail using an open spanner in the groove and hitting it with a hammer. The tool is quite short so leverage could be a problem if the nut is very tight. The tooth gripped OK for an already loosened lock nut however I cannot vouch for performance under more extreme conditions.

Works well for me
I have gone through a few of these as they are brittle and liable to snap. However the adjustability is excellent, I have it below the handlebar to look to the rear past my leg. The mirror does not jiggle and the convex shape gives a broad view. Very reassuring accessory for me. Don't do it up too tight so if a bump occurs it only requires readjustment rather than replacement.

Keeps time well
Very good unit for the price. This is a short shaft - check to see what you need. The second and minute hands are quite long, I actually cut the minute hand down to suit the clock. Anyone can fix a click with these.
