1 of 1 found this helpful If you dislike grocery store coffee it may be either due to the roasting properties or due to the country of origin, Brazil/Columbia. Roasting hot and fast tends to produce a bitterness that is intensified as the roast time is lengthened. This drives out many of the complex nuances of flavor - think Starbucks. I personally do not like South American coffees but find that Central American and South Pacific coffees are more complex, especially at lighter roasts and longer roast times at lower temps. This coffee holds up well. Take some time with the roast and you will take some time enjoying the cup. This coffee is also cost effective. Many of my previous suppliers have upped their prices as more people have gotten involved with roasting. This supplier remains cost effective from a "per lb" perspective.
