Good Quality but why they cost so much
2 of 2 found this helpful Hayward quality but why do these treads cost so much. One could buy a cheap car tire for what these cost. The only thing I can think of as to why they are so expensive is that it is a POOL item and what POOL item is reasonably priced?

This Dorman door check strap is made in China but hopefully it will last longer than the OEM
I was a little disappointed to see once I received the Dorman door check strap that it was made in China. I mean putting a made in china part on my Mercedes Sprinter was kind of like mixing oil and water for me. But no one will ever notice. What I like about Dorman's take on this part is that they left out 1 of the 3 springs that the OEM part had in it. Some say they don't like this check strap over the OEM because it has less holding power in each position. Well that's true but that is a good thing because it puts less press on the 2 little plastic end caps that are responsible for this part failing. So even though it only has 2 of the 3 springs in it I consider that to be a good thing. So overall I am happy with it. Couldn't Dorman put the "Made In China" stamp on the other side of the strap so it wouldn't show when the door is open. Duh! You would have to look hard to see it and really who will.
