Works effectively
I was hesitant at first as they look like they would cause harm. (which they could of used incorrectly) however I have brought 2 of these collars for my strong lively dogs after they were recommended by a professional trainer. Both dogs pull on the lead and could be reactive. Using these collars (sensibly and carefully) allows me to have control of both dogs at the same time. Neither dogs have been hurt by using the collars, but there is just enough pressure from the prongs to have a reaction when required. They sit slack on the dogs neck alongside their normal collar so I only need to use a short quick tug of the collar for an instant reaction. Other devices such as head collar, harness mad different techniques haven't worked. These collars have worked for my dogs. I only use them whilst walking on lead. They must not be used off lead as they would get caught and injured.
