Needed, even on new riders.
1 of 1 found this helpful Absolutely necessary for a smooth level cut. After numerous attempts to level my deck I was convinced it was bent. Using the gauge I found a little adjustment on one side made a big difference on the other. Now leveled with the gauge, my tire tracks are less visible and no more ridges. A pleasure to mow once again and see a nice smooth yard. So far the underside of the deck has been cleaner. Maybe the deck flush will really work. Only drawbacks I found were putting your face on the cement to read the numbers. It would have been nice to have the scale on both sides. The moveable pointer helps remember the set from one side to another. Great tool. Show up your neighbors.

Superior to plastic models.
Heavy, well built portioner. Scoops cold cookie dough with ease. I like things made of metal not plastic.
