The worse AC unit I have ever had, next to a GE that I also have.
If you want to resurrect the dead put one of these in the cemetery, not only loud, and I'm partially deaf in one ear, but it makes an unbearably inconsistent humming sound, definitely not for a bedroom, maybe I got a bad one I don't know, it cools really good and would be good in a room where quietness is not a factor, but do not expect to get much sleep with this thing in your bedroom, an elephant snoring is probably quieter, I miss the Sharp library quiet series of air conditioners, I have a 10,000 btu one and on the high speed it is bearly audible the low speed is almost completely silent it is a fantastic unit but too big for my bedroom

If your vehicle is overheating and you've checked everything else don't neglect to check the fans.
My neighbors 2005 350z was overheating everytime he drove it and stopped, then the engine temp would climb rapidly, my scanner registered 241 degrees which is dangerously high, all kinds of internal engine damage can occur, then the real telling part was that the fans weren't coming on when the AC was turned on which should happen automatically, he was out it started to overheat and he was near a pep boys so he stopped and asked them to check it out, without checking the fans they determined that it must be the thermostat which they quoted him a price of 400 to 500 to replace, so he brought the car to me and I changed the thermostat for him which didn't fix the problem, then after running the car after installing it I noticed the fans weren't coming on, I checked to see if there was power to them and there was so I removed them and tried applying power directly to them and nothing happened, one side turned a little after pushing it with my hand, so I replaced them and all is good now, they come on when the engine temp reaches 200 and quickly cools it off plus they come on as they should when the AC is turned on.
