great knife
Got the cara cara 2 for a beater knife and it works great. I don't mind jamming it in the dirt to cut a root or doing other rough work with it. Just rinse it off at the end of the day and give it a drop of oil. I normally like liner-lock better because it's easier to use one handed, but found the lockback design is easier to use with work gloves on. Blade is sharp out of the box. Opening and locking is smooth and solid. Byrds eye opening hole is a little sharp but not overly so. FRN scales just feel like cheap plastic to me. G10 feels a lot better in my hand but adds more to the weight and the price. This is a great work knife. It won't break your heart or wallet if anything happens to it.
