I'm glad to have discovred his line.
I have long been reluctant to buy any "Hot Wheels" diecasts simply because they never seemed like the higher priced models I usually such as BBR, Technomodel, and Minichamps. But I took a chance on one of these"Elite" series and was pleasantly surprised. I've bought half a dozen more since. For the price, these are great models. The wheels alone on this 250LM are worth the price of the model alone in my opinion and, overall compare favorably with more expensive Minichamps models.
One observation: the hinges for the opening engine cover make me wonder if he real car was like this. Even if not, this is a nice model. If the hinges turn out to be as on the real car, I'd rate this as excellent.
Oh, by the way, Hot Wheels does not make orange plastic gravity race tracks for this scale so make room in your display case or just leave it in the box. It's excellent.

A Wonderful Story
1 of 1 found this helpful I grew up in Seattle when the Thunderboats were our only major league sport. Bill Muncey, Ronnie Musson and Bill Cantrell were then our Ichiro, Ken Griffey and Matt Hasselbeck. Only even more popular.
My love for the old piston-powered boats is still with me. I have other DVDs of promotional films and hydroplane racing, but "Madison" is one movie I can show to my friends and guests without them leaving halfway through the film. It certainly doesn't hurt that I've worked on several of the boats featured in the movie. Almost all of them from Seattle's wonderful Hydroplane and Raceboat Museum.
It's especially nice to have a family movie that isn't animated and full of off-color humor. And, it's based on a true story too. Oh, and Jim Caviezel is from Seattle as well. Must have been fun for him to be in this film.
